Back to Business

So lately I've been struggling with a knitting project I have going on. I've ripped out (started over) 3 times now! I feel like a brand new knitter... So much for getting my projects done early. I've decided to spark my desire to keep on keeping on by visiting my local JoAnn's. Some new circular needles should do the trick. A trip to the craft store always makes me happy.
In other news, by the encouragement of my mom and some other close family members I've decided to add a "little ladies" section to my Etsy shop. Apparently the little ones like to wear cute headbands as well. Or at least their mothers like their girls to wear them. This should be fun.. I'll let you know here as soon as I've made enough product to launch!
Good luck with gearing up for the holidays. It's about to get crazy!

Hey there, December

Can anyone else believe it's already December? I've been working on this Christmas present knitting projects for a couple of weeks now and the inevitable dread has set in that I must knit faster! In 18 days I'll be on a plane to Ohio to celebrate the holidays with family and friends.. That's less than three weeks to complete 4 projects I have assigned to myself. None of which are even half way done.. This may be because as I mentioned in an earlier post that I have true knitter's ADD. Always several projects going at one time.

Other than that things are going well on the felt front. My custom order for an Etsy customer at Elephant Hiccups went splendidly. It was shipped off yesterday. The customer loved the pics I sent her and I'm anxious to hear what she thinks when it arrives. Well, I suppose I should go back to knitting.... 18 days people!!!!!

PS- Love our Christmas tree?? Now our place is cheery and bright!

I love Custom Requests

Being creative can be difficult! Today I have the pleasure of working on a custom piece for an Etsy customer. I love it when my customers make specific requests and I just get to use my crafting know how to make a beautiful piece.  Take a look at this adorable color palette. At completion this will be a multi-color mini rosebud cluster with an adorable purple headband.  It's meant to go along with a Rapunzel inspired dress! So excited to see it come together!

Free Shipping for Cyber Monday

Today is the day! (Even though I secretly started free shipping yesterday afternoon, and will probably keep it going for a few more days.) FREE SHIPPING on all items in my Etsy shop!  Just look at all the pretty headbands and brooches! :) Off to work I go, and of course with this Thanksgiving cold tagging along. After that it's back to work in the craft shop on a customized piece for a "Rupunzel" esque outfit requested by a wonderful Etsy customer. Happy Monday, all!!!

Crafter Cyber Monday

Hey there all! I'm still feeling completely awful. This Thanksgiving cold does not want to go. I'm just stopping in to let everyone know that tomorrow my Etsy Shop will have free shipping in honor of cyber monday/ supporting hand made as opposed to shopping big box. I talked the talk so now I'm walking the walk.

Thankful For Knitting

Getting sick on Thanksgiving was not in the plan for this year! However, it has turned this long weekend into a relaxing, lounging on the couch all day until it's back to work on Monday weekend. Luckily I have lots of work I can accomplish while recuperating! Behold my holiday knitting. In true knitter's fashion I have three projects on needles at one time. This helps to aide my extreme knitting ADD. Hopefully by the end of tomorrow I'll only have 2 projects left.

Support Local Friday

While some of the deals being offered at the big box shops can be appealing, can we think about our favorite parts about the holiday time? I hardly think most people would include, ridiculous traffic, parking lot hell, and mean co-shoppers on their list of warm fuzzy holiday feelings.  I like hanging out with family, sharing an amazing meal, the laughs, and memories. Ultimately my favorite presents include the hand knit scarf my mom makes me every year. The beautiful art work from my brother's girlfriend.  It's the handmade stuff that I love and remember.  Sure I love my Sephora gift cards, but I still have every scarf my mom ever made me. That's what I love and remember.  So this year when you're shopping for your family please shop local. And if you can't go local, shop on a crafter website.. (Etsy Shopping) or better yet try to make your own for your family and friends. Happy holidays from this non-black Friday shopper!
